VISA
Indonesia Visa: Essential Information
You can purchase a visa on arrival at the counter before going through immigration, and it can be extended once while you're in the country. The online visa, now referred to as C1 (formerly B211), is valid for 60 days and can be extended online. After that, a 60-day extension can be obtained in person, with a maximum of two extensions allowed, totaling six months. After this period, you must leave the country and apply for a new visa to start the process again.
Extending a Stay Permit in Indonesia (Online Process)
You can extend your stay permit online. One of the required documents is a Letter of Statement — this form is available online, or alternatively, you can request it via the WhatsApp number listed in the immigration email.
The form must be signed with a wet signature on a duty stamp (available at Alfamart or Indomaret), as shown in the example image. We found a nearby photocopy shop close to the immigration office where we printed and scanned the documents for around $0.20 USD.
When uploading your documents, make sure to include:
Once your extension is submitted, you’ll be given three days to visit the immigration office (at the address provided during the process) for a photo session. The visit was quick and easy — as soon as I took a queue number, I was called in, they took my photo, and told me the visa would be ready in about five days.
