TRAVEL MEDICAL INSURANCE

Why I Switched from SafetyWing to Genki Travel Insurance

I used to recommend SafetyWing, but after seeing a lot of reports on Reddit from people who had issues with claims, I found what I think is a better option for travelers: Genki Travel.

It costs a little more, but the coverage is much better. You can go to almost any hospital, and for inpatient treatment, Genki pays the hospital directly instead of making you pay upfront and wait for reimbursement, as is often the case with SafetyWing.

One of the biggest advantages is their scooter coverage. If you don't have a motorcycle license, you're still covered as long as you're wearing a helmet and riding a scooter under 125cc. This is a major benefit because many travel insurance companies deny claims after scooter accidents simply because the rider didn't have the correct license, even if the accident wasn't their fault.
