Da Nang Laundry Hack: Cross the Bridge and Save Big
Laundry in Da Nang is like everything else here: avoid the beachside if you want local prices. Da Nang basically feels like two cities — the beach area and the local city side. Cross the bridge and drive about 10 minutes inland, and prices drop fast.
Beachside laundry usually costs around 20k–35k per kilo, but the best local rate I found was 12k per kilo.
Be careful though — one shop directly across the street had a sign advertising 10k per kilo, then tried to charge 20k, claiming the sign was outdated. It turned into a heated argument, with locals even telling him not to do that. We eventually settled on 12k per kilo. I didn’t think to confirm the price beforehand because it was clearly posted.
A Vietnamese lawyer later told me that if a vendor posts one price and tries to charge another, you should film it and call the police. Apparently, businesses can face fines of up to 5 million VND for misleading pricing.
