Quick Guide to SIM Cards: Airport vs. Mall
At the airport, I paid $21 for a 30GB plan valid for one month. My partner decided not to buy a SIM card. Later, we visited the mall and found a one-year plan for $54, which also offers 30GB per month. They initially offered me a one-year plan for $100, which included around 100GB of data. I asked if they had any cheaper options, as it’s important to remember that places often try to upsell you. She informed me that the 30GB plan was the lowest available. I didn’t check the price for a one-month plan, but since we’re staying for almost a year, this option worked out best for us.
Regarding the IMEI registration, don’t bother filling it out online. Just bring your phone, flight ticket, and passport—it takes less than five minutes. I read online that if your phone is valued over $400, you might need to pay a 40% fee, but they didn’t ask me about the phone's value.
